Arena Sand - Yes, it matters.
Sand might seem like a basic ingredient and that all sand is created equal. That statement is far from the truth.
Blending sands can result in better formulas to create life and energy in a footing. Using multiple sands in our proprietary blends has proven to be very successful.

Why sand matters
Sand is the foundation of any footing blend. Its size and shape can determine whether the surface performs as intended.
Sand adds depth and helps reduce compaction, but sand that is too coarse can shift excessively and create an unstable surface. Sand that is too fine can compact quickly. For best results, sand often needs an additive, such as rubber or a blend of materials, to improve movement and cushioning.

Sourcing Right Sand
We strongly recommend avoiding sand purchases on your own. Sand can be difficult to source because many quarries do not fully understand how their sand will perform in an arena setting. A sand that works well for an outdoor arena may not be suitable for an indoor arena, where conditions and performance needs are different.
Another common issue is using too much sand. It is much easier to add more sand later than to remove excess material. Sand also requires adequate water to perform well, and new sand needs time to settle. It often rides deeper than expected at first.
