How to add colors

This article explains how to add or edit colors in SmartBuild, including standard metal colors and more advanced setups like shingles and stone (Separate Article). For full steps and visuals, refer to the video. 

1. Access Colors

• Go to Setup Wizard → Colors
• Here you can add new colors or edit existing ones

2. Metal Colors (Simple Setup)

• Most metal colors are already preloaded
• You can:
  • Select an existing color
  • Or add a new one using a Hex code
• This is the fastest and simplest color setup

3. Shingle & Stone Colors (Advanced Setup)

• These require texture maps/images, not just a color code
• Each color must be:
  • Created as a material/color entry
  • Assigned a texture image
• Proper scaling and image quality are important for realistic results

4. Editing Existing Colors

• Open any color to:
  • Change name or code
  • Update texture/image
• Changes will reflect anywhere that color is used

Final Notes

• Use Hex codes for simple materials like metal
• Use texture maps for detailed materials like shingles and stone
• Keep color naming consistent for easy selection across systems
